Around Preston Park, Brighton
Located approximately 1.5 miles North of Central Brighton, Preston Village was probably a Saxon farming settlement. With plenty to offer, there are many churches and a manor house
Preston Manor is an 18th Century House, although there is some evidence that there has been a dwelling on the site since the 13th century. Internally, it has been 'restored' to it's early 20th century glory. It was last lived in in the 1930's. It is operated by Brighton and Hove Museums

St Peter's Church, Preston Park
The church is small, consiting of a Nave, Chancel and Tower. It hails from the 13th century but was near destroyed by fire at the beginning of the 20th century.
Inside, there are the remains of some fine wall art, which date from the 14th century. Of equal (if not greater) interest is the memorial to Celia Holloway, embedded in the wall outside the church.
Celia Holloway was murdered by her husband. Her body was carried in a trunk to nearby Lover's Walk, where he buried her remains. He was hung at Horsham Jail in 1831.
