St Wulfran's is a 11th century religious building, nestling on the West side of a valley. Situated a few miles to the East of Brighton, this area has existed since before the Norman Conquest. 

Famed for it's sheep, there is still much agrictural activity surrounding the Church today.

There are other notable buildings in the village (approximately 1700 residents) including Ovingdean Grange (about which William Harrison Ainsworth wrote in the 19th century).

The word Ovingdean may be translated to 'Valley of the people associated with Ofa'. There are rumours of a shakey history, incuding French invasion in the 14th Century.
